A flat tire. Twilight time in the Savannah.
Joseph saw something in the bush and he drove the van off the path to check it out. After a few minutes our van hit a piece of wood and bam! We had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere at dinner time for all the majors predators in Africa. No panic… Marie stayed in the van looking around and Joseph and myself started removing the flat wheel. Light winds were moving the steppe around us creating a strange feeling of insecurity. A few vultures were crossing close to us as they were already enjoying and organising their dinner. Luckily no beasts approached the vehicle and in 15 minutes we were back on the path.

Kenya is a photographer dream.
It can provide you with the most impressive landscape: pristine coasts, stunning safari places and wild countryside. We landed in Mombasa around 9pm. The way down the coast was definitely unforgettable. We drove through the town and we took the ferry to the mainland. Likoni harbour is definitely a place to avoid during the night and we quickly understood why. We were the first to drive the car into the ferry and suddenly we were surrounded by dozens of people. The locals instinctively sat on the bonnet of our car and to lean around our vehicle. I would have loved to grab my camera to take a picture or video but that may have lead to some possible trouble so I decided it wasn’t such a good idea. Hundreds of eyes were pointed on us and we could only relax, smile and try to have a chat. The situation was not relaxed but it was almost hostile. 15 minutes later we arrived to the other side of the river and everything was over. People started to leave and to flow away. The gate to the beautiful Kenya beaches was open!
